This design features an original ceramic sculpture created by artist Cori Sandler for the production of YAGA, Kat Sandler’s darkly funny and fiercely feminist reimagining of the Baba Yaga myth.
At first glance, it’s a chicken.
Look closer.
For centuries, Baba Yaga’s legendary house has stood deep in the forest on giant chicken legs, one of the most enduring and unsettling images in folklore. This sculpture nods to that strange and magical world while celebrating a story about women reclaiming their own narratives, their power, their rage, and their voices.
Paired with one of the play’s unforgettable lines, this piece is for anyone who has ever felt unheard, underestimated, or told to stay quiet.
