IN THE BEUATIFUL COMOX VALLEY, VANCOUVER ISLAND, BC
Enjoy an 8-week class taught by a resident potter Cori Sandler! Let me share with you my enthusiasm about clay's possibilities here in my potter's studio. Learn about traditional methods of hand building (working with pinching, coiling and slab techniques) and get caught up in the excitement of the potter's wheel. I'll guide you through the process of decorating and glazing your work. Reclaim your hands, rediscover your inner artist.
Students sign up for an 8-week series of 2.5 hour classes, and attend the same chosen class time for the duration of the course.
Classes will be held
Tuesdays morning 10:30 - 1pm and
Tuesday evening 7- 9:30pm
If there are other times that would work best for you and if you have friends or family (parent and child - over 8yrs old, or child and caregiver, or child and grandparent/grand-other) that you would like to create a class with, let me know and I'll do my best to find a way to schedule it. If you are wishing to set up your own class, I require 4 people per class minimum.
Classes are $360.00 for an 8 class cycle
Clay - $30.00 per bag - includes glazes and firings
Tools if required - approx. $20.00

Dates are subject to change, depending on enrollment. If you have a preferred day of the week, please let me know and I'll see if we can arrange classes on that day of the week, Or... if you have a group of friends - we can arrange a date that is suitable providing studio is not pre-booked.
Life is meant to be flexible.

or... Come to the NEXT WOMEN'S ART SAFARI - A Creative Women's Workshop
Okay Women. Now the fun begins!
These workshops are full 1 day sessions and/or
weekend sessions. These will be held only a few times a year,
so if you have interest in these workshops, please drop
me a note.
From time to time I will have
friends and other artists come in and hold workshops in a variety
of art disciplines, from pottery, to mask making, from batik, to
beading, to paper mache, to... get the picture?
These workshops will not be product focussed, but process focussed.
It will be a chance for women
who have lots of arts experience and women with no arts experience
to get together on the same playing field and just explore, talk,
laugh, share some good food for the soul.
Perhaps these workshops can be thought of as CREATIVE CONFIDENCE
WORKSHOPS. We'll use paper mache,
collageing , paint and pottery,
beading and wirework, fibre, found objects, - our imagination is the limit. Objects that you thought you should just
throw out. will be cut smashed, glued, drilled, etc. etc. We will
even have time for singing and drumming and some movement. The songs will not
have words, as this is a reminder of not letting anything confine
us on this day.
This is a workshop or a playday,
where your unique story will have the space and time to unfold.
We will close our eyes and begin
the journey of Intuitive Abstract Painting - Intuitive painting
means portraying what you feel without over-thinking, where absolutely
no artistic experience is nescessary, in fact, you'd be surprised
how that can get in the way of really getting to the heart of letting
go. We'll experiment with brushes, steel wool, sponges...
Here you are given permission to do what you want to do. And
if you don't know what that is, there will be lots of helpful suggestions
and guidence along the way.
At the Creative Women's Workshops,
there are no mistakes!!!!
During the day, you will have
the option to journal, and reflect on one's inner self while nourishing
your soul.
These workshops are empowering
and exhillerating and an oportunity for self expression - AND...
a damn good time!
