Who said you can’t put #dots on a #woodfired #mug anyway. I love the stories that woodfired pots tell us of their journey into the flame. The later shiny sections of this mug was facing the opening to the #anagama Kiln. The toasty cinnamon Matte part of this mug was toward the Side and back facing away from the flame. Such an amazing story

I used to dread making handles. I can remember it like it was yesterday. They just never seemed to really be part of the pot but were more like something that just had to get stuck on to perform a function. I now enjoy making handles. This is what note taking in between stokes looks like at the #anagama firing. We record the temperature in 3 zones, front middle and back of the kiln every 1/2 hour not so, but there is a separate note taking that goes on in between all of that. #workinghands
