This garden series depicts dancing tulips upon various pottery forms. The colourful flowers are loosely painted and outlined with a thin black line. When I was a young girl I was definately a TV baby (growing up in the 60's) and I can see in my work that I was heavily influenced by things with boarders, and outlines and frames - such was the case with the TV box. All the olour was inside the frame. I like the notion of the colouring book with the lines that I was asked to paint inside of. If you look closely at my work, you will see that I intentionally stretch the colour outside the bounds of the black lines. I have never been one to stay within the confines that someone else has placed upon me... I subtley express this in my art. Ahhhh... but you'll have to get real close!
